Understanding and Administering Basic Massage Techniques Training Course

The purpose of this unit is to provide learners’ with the knowledge and skills to enable them to administer basic massage to individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The unit aims to enable parents, carers and responsible adults to gain an understanding of the therapeutic benefits of massage for individuals with SEND and to acquire the skills to enable them to perform basic arm massage techniques with the individual/s they care for.

Massage therapy has many benefits for everyone, this course aims to provide the benefits that can be perceived by individuals with SEND. Techniques learned during this course will be ideal for candidates to use after the course for the individual/s they care for.

Our course tutor Zoe Redshaw is a sport & exercise rehabilitation therapist who specialises in massage therapy for SEND.

Get to know your instructor

Zoe is a SEND massage therapist with experience in sport and exercise rehabilitation and massage therapy. Zoe created her course to help expand the SEND massage therapy space further to reach even more individuals with SEND who would benefit from this therapy. Zoe has a kind, gentle nature and a true passion to helping others. Zoe’s teaching style is relaxed and taken at your own pace. One of her aims is to project massage therapy for SEND across the UK, not just the North East.

  • Pricing at HEADS training centre is £125.00 per delegate.

    In house training at your workplace can be for up to 12 individuals and pricing starts at £605.00

  • Yes, certificates can be included in the course price at the point of booking. These certificates will be emailed directly to those that have successfully passed the course.

  • The course is a one day course. The course takes roughly 6 hours.

  • We are currently in the process of developing a level 2 SEND massage course.
